Tillas Schreibstube
Mathilde Amplatz, lovingly called Tilla by her friends, grew up in this very house. She was a passionate primary school teacher in Montan. During the Fascist era, she lost her teaching position. But Tilla didn’t give up. She continued educating her students in secret locations which were known as the “catacomb schools”, and these very rooms were part of them. Today, Tilla’s former classroom is home to a unique holiday apartment, featuring authentic antique furniture and the unmistakable charm of South Tyrolean history.

Good to Know!
Payment:
You can pay for your stay in cash or by card. We accept all major cards such as Visa and Mastercard. Unfortunately, we do not accept Amex, Diners, etc.
Arrival and Departure:
On your departure day, we kindly ask you to vacate your room or suite by 10:00 a.m. for final cleaning. Otherwise, we may need to charge for an additional night. Your accommodation will be ready from 3:00 p.m. If you plan to arrive after 6:00 p.m., please let us know in advance.
Pets:
Out of consideration for guests with allergies, pets are not allowed.
Shopping:
A grocery store and a delicatessen (Karin’s Ladala) offering primarily regional specialties are located just 10 meters away.
Dining:
Within 50 meters, you’ll find two restaurants (Goldener Löwe and Rose) and one pizzeria (Schloss Enn). Additional options like Restaurant Tenz and Pizzeria Traube are also within walking distance.
Location:
The Amplatz 1523 is located right on Montan’s historic village square.
Booking Conditions
- Prices do not include the €2.50 tourist tax per person (aged 14+) per day, payable locally as required by law.
- Bookings are only confirmed once a deposit of at least 30% of the total amount has been received.
- Cancellation policy:
Free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival
29–15 days: 20% of the total booking price
14–3 days: 50%
From 2 days before arrival or in case of late arrival or early departure: 100%
